Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to make students familiar with history and the present of Russian and East European drama, music and film. The drama, film and music analysis will be set into context with important historical and political moments in East European societies. Students will get acquainted with the development of music genres and the role of music in East European societies.
|
Requirements on student
|
Students are required to prepare an oral presentation of several movies or dramas dealing with one political event focusing on the differences and similarities between them. They are required to present one music trend (in oral or written form) according to their individual or group choice. Students regularly read assigned texts in Czech and foreign languages and prepare assignments on a regular basis. The assignments are in the form of oral presentations or texts; this will be arranged by mutual agreement between lecturer and students. Assignments will be evaluated by lecturer.
