Course objectives:
|
Introducing to the historical development in the Czech lands from the beginning of the 19th century until the period after the World War I. and the constitution of the Czechoslavak Republic (1918): political, economical, cultural development; incorporation into a wider European context; everyday life. To present the way and methods of working with specialized literature and sources for this period. To analyze and criticize various opinions on selected issues of the Czech history of the 19th century and the beginning of the twentieth century. Providing a survey on the fluctuating reception of events in the Czech historical consciousness, and on topics normally used for exercises. Providing space for students´ presentations and discussions within the seminars.

Requirements on student
|
Seminar work in the form of a review of professional historiographical work. The oral exam, taking place in both parts of the course, is performed as debate about two specific subjects. The student has to express himself without assistance, responding to additional questions, showing a survey on the appropriate literature.

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Thistorical development in the Czech lands in the defined period (1815 - 1918). He knows the events and analyzes them in the historical consciousness, discusses them and evaluates them. He approaches different views and views on historical events of the defined period, compares and sets home events into the wider context of European and world history. Applies knowledge from lectures and seminars to this period for education or other uses. |
