Course objectives:
|
The aim of the subject is to define the basic aspects of nursing in nursing care of these patients. Clarify and learn to use a holistic approach to treating patients / clients. Learning to correctly identify disease signaling symptoms, clinically assessing the condition of the patient, applying the nursing process including nursing procedures and the patient / client's performance in the subject matter. Practice techniques of verbal and non-verbal communication, use educational programs. Learning to work in a team, to accept and respect interdisciplinary relationships, to work with family members and nursing care agencies and respecting the rights and dignity of patients / clients. Last but not least, focus on modern disease diagnosis. The subject is conceived as theoretical and practical and provides expert information on the clinical picture and nursing care provided to patients with locomotory diseases.

Content
|
Syllabus of lectures and exercises: Basics of orthopedics and rheumatology. Investigational methods in orthopedics and rheumatology. Nursing process in preoperative and postoperative patients. Nursing process in patients with inflammatory and non-inflammatory rheumatic diseases. Nursing process in a patient with acute, joint-related infections. Nursing process in a patient with a degenerative disease. Nursing process in patients with metabolic diseases of the locomotor system. Nursing process in a patient with benign and malignant tumors of the locomotive organs. Nursing process in case of a patient with locomotive system trauma. Nursing process in a patient with total endoprosthesis.
