Requirements on student
Professional Practice A is evaluated at the end of the semester in the form of a colloquium - joint meeting of a small group of students, which essence is to summarize experience obtained or social worker?s competencies verified by a student while on a practice. When evaluating and reflecting on acquired knowledge, skills and attitudes, emphasis is placed on the ability of self-reflection and student activities in the selected organization of social work. The condition for the granting of credit is 100% attendance at selected professional work place. In case that a student can not practice for serious reasons, in some part of the terms, student apologizes to an instructor practice, with whom they agree on an alternative date of performance. In order to grant credits student participates in a final colloquium with a practice teacher. Student presents processed daily practice notes, completed practice record sheet and evaluation processed by an instructor about student?s performance at the workplace.
Content
Professional Practice A in selected social work organization is focused on work with a client or group of clients under the supervision of professional social worker - the internship instructor. The course consists of one-day practice (six hours once a week) within first nine weeks of the semester. For the performance of professional practice it is reserved a concrete day in a student?s timetable, changes though can be negotiated with the instructor.
The first day of practice (as latest), student contact their internship instructor, or coordinator of a practice in a selected organization, to have a contract signed by the school and already confirmed by himself. The signed contract is handed back to the teacher who coordinates the practice. The practice activities are arranged with the practice instructor who also signs the practice record sheet. Overview of subject matters, respectively course of practice depends on the nature of the organization in which student practices and also on type of internship position student has signed up for.
