Course objectives:
|
The course is a follow-up to Course 1. Students acquire further knowledge of the world of business by means of topics such as the employees' rights and protection, payroll analysis, defining an enterprise, its organisation and various legal forms of business. Like in the previous courses, students acquire new professional knowledge and practise language skills as well as grammatical and lexical structures used in professional communication. The course is conducted mainly in French.

Elaboration of a seminar paper (description of a Czech company and its organizational structure)

Content
Week 1. Familiarization with the curriculum and student requirements for FKP2 course. Revision of the curriculum of FKP1 course.
Week 2. Employment contract basic information, types of contracts (fixed-term contract, contract for an indefinite time). Termination of the employment on the part of an employer and an employee. Analysis of the employment contract.
Week 3. Working rules of a company, rights and responsibilities of an employer and an employee. Strike as a mean of ensuring the rights of employees.
Week 4. Redundancies because of personal and economic reasons. Notice period, redundancy payment, protection of employees´ rights
Week 5. Rewarding the employees, different types of wages, minimum wage. Salary allotment, payslip and its analysis. Criteria influencing the salary level.
Week 6. Revision of knowledge concerning an employment contract. Definition of business organization, its role, effecting of profit, division of incomes, market issue law of supply and demand.
Week 7. Mid-term test (employment contract). Main characteristics of individual business enterprises, their activities. Craft industry companies.
Week 8. Control of mid-term test. Organizational structure of a company tasks of superiors. Options of written communication between companies.
Week 9. Individual law forms of companies and their characteristics. Comparison of public limited company and limited company advantages and disadvantages.
Week 10. Start a business or not Motivation of starting a business, problems while doing so.
Week 11. Starting a business, formalities connected with its starting. Company´s articles analysis of published information concerning a new business.
Week 12. Choice of a convenient place to situate a company. Conditions of doing a business in the city and in the country. Analysis of advertisements which offer sale or renting locality convenient for doing a business. Revision of the curriculum of 3. and 4. unity
