Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with contemporary sociological production. The course focuses on recent texts of Czech and world sociology. The aims of the course are: - to present the wide spectrum of topics and methods - to analyze the relationship between the classics and contemporary sociology - to critically evaluate data sources and methods - to relate them to dominant paradigms and methodological streams/traditions

Final paper, presentation, final test.
The most of seminars text are in English only. Besides the above specified requiremennts for coursework, the students´presentation in English during the semestr is an integral part of the course.
