Course objectives:
|
The general aim of the class is to introduce the students to the history of artist-computer interaction. The class focuses on early digital art since the 1950's and draws a parallel to the evolution of digitalization. In the current time this evolution excels at the development of robotics, artificial intelligence and algorithmic processes; tools that have become embedded in, and influence significantly, design, art and life in general. Computational Art further touches on new waves of thinking that are motivated by society's digital awakening.
The specific aim is to offer the students a thorough understanding of the importance of new transformative technologies in art and design, and to support the future generation to incorporate such tools in their art practice and creative thinking.

Requirements on student

Credit requirements:
- regular, at least 75% attendance at lectures
- elaboration of a seminar work on a given or pre-consulted topic, possible presentation in the form of a paper in the terms set by the teacher
- active participation in discussions based on individual topics

interpret with the help of technical terms reproduced or otherwise presented examples of works of art,
analyze the text and context of a work of art and art,
to realize the values shaping one's own opinions in the field of artistic-aesthetic judgments,
