Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the development of ideas concerning European Integration since the second half of the 19th century. Italian, Spanish and Swiss integration proposals will be mentioned. The vision of T.G.Maryaryk's post-war Europe will also be discussed. The work "Paneurope" by Kalergi will be discussed in detail. This will be followed by a detailed overview of the milestones in the integration of Western Europe after the World War II.

Requirements on student
|
Students regularly read assigned texts in Czech and foreign languages and prepare assignments on a regular basis. The assignments are in the form of oral presentations or texts; this will be arranged by mutual agreement between lecturer and students. Assignments will be evaluated by lecturer.
Presentation generally lasts about 10-20 minutes, standard length of papers is aprox. 10 standard pages (1800 characters with spaces per page). Combined exam.
