Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide the student with practical skills necessary for work in a photo-studio.
|
Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements:
- 75% attendance and active work in lessons
- Fulfilment of the assigned task: submitting the work from the lessons on a flash drive or a stated file hosting site (6 sample photos for each of the 4 topics).
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Previously obtained credit,
- Fulfilment of all sub-tasks as directed by the teacher,
- Regular submission of project proposals for consultation,
- Realization of a separate project: Based on the selection of their own topic, creating a photographic cycle of 8 - 12 photographs (photographs will be in the context, relate to each other, develop a single topic, form a unit, express opinions and ideas of the author). Submission of the semester project on a flash drive or a stated file hosting site as well as in the form of photographs or high quality prints for exhibition purposes.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
describe the photographic technique and technology used in digital studio photography,
explain the contents of the photographic device and its settings (aperture, time, exposure), photographic lens - types, parameters,
explain basic lighting principles; describe the role of color, line and structure in the photo,
to list and describe photographic genres, to highlight the most prominent representatives,
describe the differences between analog and digital technology,
explain the principle of the construction, composition and composition of the photographic image |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
apply the basic principles of illumination,
to work with the composition and composition of the photographic image,
to assign photographic genres to the most prominent representatives,
to work independently with a photographic device, to apply a specific way of working in the photo studio,
to apply the knowledge of basics of exponometry, to describe the types and differences of the lenses, methods of exposure measurement,
work with exponometry basics - exposure measurement methods, differentiate lens types, take into account the differences between them,
to work with different kinds of light, to use the possibilities of working with light in photography |

describe how to work with a digital photo camera,
explain the specifics of work in the photo studio,
to describe the basics of exponometry and methods of exposure measurement, to list the types and differences of the lenses,
to describe the work with different kinds of light |
Skills - skills resulting from the course: |
to correctly illuminate an object for a given photo intent and a genre (portrait, figure, still life, abstraction, detail); determine which type of light situation is appropriate and usable for implementation,
to creatively work with the subject, composition and composition of the photographic image,
to correctly set up and use a digital photo camera to work in the photo studio,
to assemble the flashing devices individually so that the object (model) illuminates with the appropriate intensity and from the correct angles; to use a flash meter to measure light intensity, to recognize and solve problems in lighting the object (model),
to adapt the type and intensity of light to the photographic intention and genre (to solve technical and compositional problems),
to apply the basic types of photographic illumination according to their specific purpose - to realize a full-fledged work, both technically and artistically |
