Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide the student with practical skills necessary for work with classic black and white photographic materials.
|
Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements:
- 75% attendance and active work in lessons
- Fulfilment of the assigned task: submitting the work from particular lessons format 12 x 24 cm (6 sample photos for each of the 3 topics).
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Previous successful obtaining of credit,
- Fulfilment of all sub-tasks as directed by the teacher,
- Regular submission of project proposals for consultation,
- Realization 3 separate projects: 1 - student in the photography studio realizes a series of 6 images the medium format camera, focused on a man (portrait, figure, act). 2 - student in the exterior photographs a series of 6 images on any topic and any photographic camera. 3 - student
creating a photographic cycle of 6 images (for example photograms, collage, multiple exposure, etc.) Each will be presented in the form of photographs - min. 18 x 24 cm.

1. Becoming familiar with various types of photographic cameras and their control. Emphasis will be put on the camera designed for studio work and also on private students' cameras used during the semester.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
to demonstrate the theoretical knowledge of photographic techniques and technology used in classical photography,
understand the concepts: photographic device and its settings (aperture, time, exposure), photographic lens - types, parameters,
to equip students with basic principles of illumination, color, line, and structure in photography
to apply the knowledge of work with composition and composition of photographic image, knowledge of photographic genres and their most important representatives |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
to work with analog photographic technology and to use the basic functions that it enables in creating,
to apply the principle of construction, composition and composition of the photographic image,
to work with different kinds of light, to distinguish and compare the possibilities of working with light in photography |

explain the specifics of work in the photo studio,
to describe the basics of exponometry and methods of exposure measurement, to list the types and differences of the lenses,
to describe the work with different types of light, |
Skills - skills resulting from the course: |
his own photographic apparatus and apparatus for studios,
photographed on black-and-white negative material, both in controlled lighting conditions of the studio and in the exterior,
controls the studio and can optimally use it for that purpose,
can use the flash meter when working with flash and exposure meter when working outside the studio,
is able to independently evoke its own black and white negatives and evaluate them both technically and in terms of content,
controls the characteristics of individual positive materials and can choose the most optimal,
he can greatly enhance his shots, and the series will act in a balanced way both technically and artistically,
Besides classical processing of black and white negative and positive materials, the student will also control specific techniques of image intervention and will also proceed to his own experiments,
the resulting work is able to represent and defend quality |
