Course objectives:
|
As part of the course, the student will be introduced to essential works of art (musical compositions, sound installations, sound art) of the 20th and 21st centuries and at the same time will be introduced to the historical context. Part of the subject will be one's own creation (sound installation, sound art, sound object, sound sculpture, etc.) reflecting the topics discussed.

Requirements on student
|
In order to successfully complete the course, the student must meet the required attendance - 75% of classes, present the result of their own work and demonstrate the ability to think critically about the given topic through the presentation of their work. Self-study, individual preparation and completion of practical tasks is also a prerequisite for successful completion of the course.

editing as a technical means of expression and montage organizing, connecting meaningful content and giving it a specific expression and shape,
basic musical compositions, the use of sound installations, the history of sound art in the 20th and 21st centuries and its historical context,
procedures for creating a sound installation, sound art, sound object, sound sculpture, etc.,
music/sound analysis, critical reflection. |
Skills - skills resulting from the course: |
records sounds, voice, verbal expression through a microphone,
connects, assembles, blends materially diverse and meaningfully different sound ingredients (movements, music, words),
uses sound images to create atmosphere and evoke emotion,
shifts the meaning of the sound recording and the larger audiovisual composition,
creates a sound/musical study as an autonomous output or as part of an intermedial work. |
