Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide the students with the competence for creation of the packaging and poster design and to teach them to create the packaging design of electronic media (interpreting the piece of work) and to teach them also the composition rules in poster making including the issue of corporate identity.

Requirements on student
|
Exam requirements:
- Regular attendance at classes - at least 80 per cent.
- Regular attendance and active participation in common teacher-student sessions.
- Completion, consultation, correction, and consequent submission of intermediate practical tasks (seminar works) in a required quality and to a set deadline.
- Regular consultation, correction, and completion of the final project.
- Presentation on CD.
Assessment criteria:
Personal interest in the branch accompanied with the willingness to think about and discuss it. Creative and meticulous elaboration of visual art related tasks is expected. The attempt to reach distinctive visual concept with a range of preparatory studies will be a part of the assessment. Another criterion would be the willingness to participate in creating friendly and cooperative atmosphere.

Subject content 1.-13. Setting the principles of mutual communication during the seminar. Getting acquainted with the equipment and work rules in the seminar rooms. Setting the final work topic. Wrapping design, graphic design of electronic media, art work interpretation. Graphics in a dynamic process. Composition rules in poster design. Coordinated visual style. Communication demands in relation to the message. Presentation of a design project in public environment. Working out design elements into a meaning-determined project. Corporate identity. Presentation - making student´s own print portfolio. Seminar evaluation.
Correction, consultations and continuous handing in all assigned partial seminar tasks proceed throughout the semester. Correction, consultations and continuous creating the semester work (KP) proceed throughout the semester.

about their possible reciprocal compositional relationships,
about historical and contemporary style canons
about graphical tools suitable for graphic design in its traditional and digital form,
designing variants with a respect to correctly linking the function and aesthetic criteria of the product,
about mechanism of communication with the client to determine his/her requirements,
about ways of critically assessing your own work in a business context |

designing prints and electronic media on a given topic uses a wider range of basic graphics,
proposes surface stylization of visually processed topics and their integration into a graphically effective composition,
choose the appropriate technology for producing the final product,
reflects his work in historical and contemporary contexts,
reflects its work in the context of professional, technical and technological processes,
submit his proposal and selection to the contracting authority and justify it in the respect to the task and his/her requirements,
critically assesses his/her own work in the field context and style framework,
with erudition, presents his work to the professional community,
he is able to accept and assert in a way the evaluation and critical response |
