Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to teach the students to create the educational illustration for different age groups in all its forms and to work with it subsequently (e.g. alphabets, books for pre-school children, textbooks and didactic tools for the primary, secondary, high schools and universities). Further, to provide them with competence for creation of scientific illustration and to teach them the teamwork for solving more difficult issues of the educational illustration (i.e. scientist - artist relation).

Requirements on student

Credit requirements:
- Active participation in seminars - Continuous creation and implementation of assigned seminar tasks.
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Obtaining prior credit, - Presentations at seminars, - Ongoing design, consultation and successful completion of all assigned projects according to studio art teacher's instructions.
Students must demonstrate mastering traditional technologies of precise drawings and paintings, knowledge of specific composing methods and knowledge of the method of analysis and instructional illustration construction.

Content
|
Students of the master's program can enrol in this course as in so-called second studio. Weeks 1 - 13 By targeting individual talent, students may specialize in art production for a particular age group or deal with art work for all age groups. - Picture alphabet, picture dictionary, - Primer, a textbook for the 1st grade of primary school, - Textbooks for the 2nd grade of primary school - Educational boards on topics: minerals, insects, - Educational boards on topics: farm life, city life, - Educational boards on topics: human anatomy, - Educational boards on topics: the universe, - Maps, image maps of animals, maps of historic sites, mineral resources, - Boards for history teaching (eg. life in a medieval castle) - Historical landmarks (the Thirty Years War, First World War) and others.
