Course objectives:

The aim of this course is to provide students with basic industrial design skills
- To introduce students to the basic principles of industrial design
- To introduce students to the basic principles of design of basic parts of industrial products

Requirements on student
|
Discussion on the given project; at the end of semester student submit written project report (one copy on CD); size of the report is 20 to 30 pages; project report will be defended before the examining board; the contents of the project report is discussed in the framework of KKS/DKS.

Content
|
This course is intended for students studying either bachelor specialization ?Industrial Design? or ?Industrial Design? certificate at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
Students can choose project content. Consultation with the subject guarantor is recommended.
Students apply theoretical knowledge of mechanical engineering, economics and artistic knowledge and apply this theoretical knowledge in the design of a specific industrial product.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
Basic knowledge of machine components, fundamentals of engineering design and computer-aided design |

- assess the pros and con of designed industrial products
- recognise and formulate problems concerning design of basic parts of industrial products

- relate technical, economic and aesthetical solution of industrial products
