Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge and an overview of the management techniques used to manage work and project teams in an industrial environment. The area of lectured techniques is not only a managerially linked to high positions in the management of companies, but it concerns all managers who manage a team of two or more employees. Emphasis will be placed on the management of technical teams, where this knowledge is lacking in technical fields, and at the same time proper management is extremely important in all areas from development, technical preparation of production to production itself. Practical examples will be used to demonstrate how to properly manage activities that are not time-framed and have a large number of influencing parameters.

The condition for obtaining credit is:
- 80% participation in exercises
- submission of an essay (500 words min) on a given topic
Exam conditions (the exam consists of two parts):
- submission of a short essay, which will be discussed in the exam and answering questions

Content
|
The course is focused on gaining basic and advanced knowledge of management techniques needed to manage any team of people. In the seminars these theories, techniques and methods are discussed and applied on practical examples. Students will gain an overview of modern approaches to management and leadership, techniques and methods for effective self-management, creating, leading, coordinating teams and self-knowledge for the role of manager and leader. Emphasis is placed on understanding the integrity of the leader, a variety of basic tools for effective communication, creating the conditions for teamwork, using collective intelligence to achieve short and long-term results, and understanding the functioning of self and others (subordinates/supervisors/peers).
