Course objectives:

Bachelor thesis should be done in field corresponding to student?s future professional or academic aims. Main purpose of thesis is to demonstrate student?s abilities in research and creative work. Critical method selection, analysis of both theoretical and empiric sources as well as theoretical background setting and student?s own input are considered most important. Presentation skills and argumentation abilities are part of the work.

Requirements on student
|
Continuous active participation in the consultations with the supervisor during the processing of theses. Written elaboration of theses according to the requirements specified in the decision of the Dean of Faculty and supervisor.

Content
|
Course is selected by those students, who expect to graduate in public service studies in during particular academic year. Expert opinions prepared by opponent and by supervisor should be considered in preparation of Bachelor thesis. Student is expected to react to all comments and also to present additional explanations related to the thesis. The way of presentation is consulted with supervisor of thesis.
Presentation to the commission takes about 30 minutes, including questions of commissioners and final evaluation. Students can present thesis to a graduation commission only, when all criteria set by Study and examination rules of West Bohemia University in Plzen are met.
