Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of the importance and the main features of cultural heritage in the life of contemporary Czech society. Students will gain knowledge about the different types of material cultural heritage administrative, economic and legislative environment conservation in terms of the use of the unique potential of Czech cultural heritage.

|
1) Cultural heritage and its importance in modern society - sociological, economic and political aspects.
2) Typology of cultural heritage - tangible and intangible culture heritage versus new cultural creation.
3) The development of views on cultural heritage and monument preservation - the main aspects of Czech heritage preservation in an international comparison.
4) The cultural politics of the modern state - a typology of approaches to heritage preservation, statist and liberal concept.
5) Public administration - state administration and local government in monument preservation - the authorities, responsibilities, agendas, legislation.
6) Professional organization of State monument care - related functions and role of government.
7) Methodology of monument preservation - development, theory, practice.
8) Subjects and actors conservation - national, public and private sector
9) Economy of monument preservation in contemporary Czech conditions - forms and tools economization of cultural heritage
10) Animation cultural heritage - forms, methods and tools
11) Presentation of cultural heritage - educational, artistic, marketing concept - combination of forms and expressions of tangible and intangible cultural
12) Restoration as a specific instrument presentation of cultural monuments.
13) New trends in monument preservation in developed countries - international cooperation, "New Economics" creative industries.
