Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to initiate the students into the issue of the art development from prehistoric times to antiquity and Early Christian Art and to familiarize them with the art of the first state units - Egypt and Mesopotamia, and with the development of Aegean area with emphasis on the time of ancient Greece and Rome. Further, the lectures continue with the systematic overview of European Romanesque and Gothic art and three lectures are devoted only to the issue of the Middle Ages in Bohemia and Moravia.

Requirements on student
|
Requirements for credit:
- Regular attendance of at least 75% at lectures and seminars
- Active participation in the discussion of individual topics
- Presentation of a seminar paper on a given, previously consulted topic in the form of a report by the deadline set by the lecturer
- Submission of a written elaboration of this seminar paper by the deadline set by the lecturer
- Passing the credit test with at least 65%
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Previous obtaining of credit
- Oral examination within the scope of the topics discussed and the required study literature
