Course objectives:

Functional physical development and the development of movements of handicaped students is provided through a suitable choice of exercises. Students get used to the correct whole life P.E. regime, which is suitable for the state of health of weakened students.
Classes are specifically orientated according to the different kinds of weaknesses and handicaps with an individual approach to students in methodology, aids and forms of teaching.

Requirements on student
|
Enrolments to the classes of P.E. are done by students according to their interests, abilities and sport skills.The condition for successful completion of the course and obtaining the credit is respecting the rules of regular attendance in P.E. classes, which is stated in the study regulations of the Department of Physical Education and Sports (KTS) at the University of West Bohemia (ZČU).
Students obtain the credit for active participation in semestral classes of P.E. of the chosen sports specialization.
Regular attendance in P.E. classes and an active approach to the classes is the essential prerequisite.Irregular attendance and a passive approach to the classes make it absolutely impossible for students to obtain the credits.In case of absence in classes, not higher than 30% the student has the possibility of compensation of the well-founded and apologized absences and obtaining the credit.

Content

Students are divided into groups of Remedial Physical Education on the basis of doctor?s recommendation. Classes are orientated on influencing the weakened organism from the point of view of prevention, compensation and regeneration.
This subject is intended for students with permanent or temporary handicap of physical development or the handicap of their state of health. According to their handicap students are divided into several groups:
1. weakened ability of movement - a) weakened trunk
b) weakened limbs
2. weakened inner organs ? a) weakened cardio-vascular system
b) weakened respiratory system
c) metabolic disorders
d) disorders of digestive system

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Students with temporary handicap of physical development (injury, operation) get familiar with exercises suitable for the compensation of their muscle disbalance influenced by the injury. Students get systematically prepared for full-value exercising.
After successful completion of the course students with individual kinds of weaknesses and disorders should be able to choose and do suitable exercises according to their handicap. They should also be able to use medically sporting aids (skipping rope, Oweball, gymnastic ball, balance plane, etc.) and if possible gradually join P.E. classes.
