Course objectives:
|
This course is intended only for students of long learning course. The aim of the course is to acquaint the participants with machines, tools and materials used in jewelry (common and precious metals), but also with the processing of non-traditional materials used in jewelry (plexiglass, wood). Using practical examples, teach the participants the basics of metal processing, production techniques and technological procedures used in jewelry (cutting with a jigsaw, drilling, filing, rolling of materials, annealing, brazing - using fire and silver solder, soft soldering - using tin). To explain to the participants the rules when using jewelry surface treatment techniques (sanding, polishing, trimming, patination), to familiarize the participants with the chemical substances used in jewelry (acids and degreasers, etc.). During the semester, participants will try out the manufacturing technique of assembly.
