Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide a student with global theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for realization of author's jewellery. Students will learn other processing, forming and refining methods used in jewellery production.

Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements: - regular attendance in lectures - at least 70 per cent, - Regular active attendance in seminars, inventivness compulsory, - Continuous consultations, corrections, completing and handing in all partial theoretical and practical seminar tasks on time according to the teacher´s requirements - Handing in the works portfolio of required form and extent

Materials /chemical composition, attributes, kinds of processing, use/: - Metals/base metals, precious metals/ - Gemstones / chemical composition, attributes, faceting/, - Plastic /plexiglass, carbonates, epoxide, fibreglass (laminated plastic)/PVC, Lukopren, rubbers/, - Enamel/Cloisonné, Basse-taille, Grisaille, Limoges enamel/, - Glass - Natural materials /bone, shell, plants, hair/ - Wood - Textile - Synthetic stones - Acids /chemicals/
Processing procedures: - Melting and casting - granulation - filigree - niello - milling - Pavé - plating - galvanoplastics - Finishing - polishing, sanding, patination, varnishing Continuous work, consultations, corrections and handing in partial seminar works on time according to the teacher´s instructions.

to choose the appropriate creative procedures for implementing the proposed variants of the work,
consider the possibilities of forming basic materials,
to critically evaluate the mutual compositional and material relations in relation to the given topic of creation,
to be confessed in historical and contemporary style canons |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
suggests variants of object, object, jewelry, both in flat and spatial layout,
design a jewel with regard to the intended target group,
revitalizes and templates the stylistic affinity of his own work and other artists,
choose the appropriate technology of model production and the technological process of artifact production,
realizes the final form of artifacts |

on creative procedures for visualizing proposed variants of the work,
on the possibilities of forming basic materials,
enumerates the complex properties of materials used in the creative medium of author's jewelry,
enumerates, describes, explains and at the same time practically applies methods of working including technological processes,
describe the important properties and chemical composition of the materials,
about the ways of thematic compositional and material relations in relation to the given topic of creation,
about historical and contemporary style canons,
the form of presentation of the work,
designing variants with a view to correctly linking the function and aesthetic criteria of the work |
