Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to continue from the previous semester and to familiarize students with the historical stages of development of painting techniques and methods of their use. Further stages of development paintings bring new materials and with them new painting technology.

Credit requirements:
- regular class attendance
- to fulfil all given semestral tasks in required quality and in the term set by the teacher
- attendance at excursion.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
equip the historical development of classical painting techniques and painting technologies, the preparation of materials and the ways of their use,
at an advanced level, to compare and analyze various painting art expressions in terms of aesthetic, semiotic and technical,
to specify basic knowledge of supporting arts disciplines,
to demonstrate basic knowledge of the art and style canons in the context of the development of artistic and applied arts in connection with general history |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
to work systematically on either seminar work or own learning,
to show interest in learning of theory of problematics usable in own practical work as an inspiration,
to use basic expresive means and options of illustration and its different forms,
to work independently and activelly and flexibly react to evaluating commentary of the teacher, |

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
the distinction of artistic styles and expressions in different stages of development,
students through examples of specific techniques, materials, and demonstrations on examples from the history of painting: they will recognize new materials and new painting technologies,
describes the oil painting painting and painting on the back of the painted canvas on the frame,
recognize and enumerate the original techniques of wall painting, its variants and related techniques, incl. polychromy of plastic elements |

to identify the development stages of painting,
to list different types of substrates, to describe techniques with water-soluble paints on a paper or wood mat,
to include events, artistic trends and personalities in the timeline of historical development,
to define and name elements, styles, methods and techniques in each developmental stage,
to evaluate the contribution of individual personalities to the development of the field
