Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide the students with competence for more difficult creation of video performance, video installation or photography project. Further, to teach them to work more professionally with a digital HDV format camera and a professional HD format camera and to work with picture and sound through the high-speed internet (i.e. stream videos, mobile communication videos, GPS, etc.).

Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements:
- Regular active participation in seminars - at least 90 per cent.
- Completion and submission of all specified studio sub-tasks (seminar works) in the extent and deadlines set by the teacher.
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Previously obtained credit,
- Demonstrating inventiveness and craft abilities,
- Obligatory corrections,
- Submitting and defending semester project
- Presentation on CD or on DVD.

Content
|
Students of master's program can enroll in this course as in so-called second studio. Weeks 1 - 13 - Assignment of topics for semester project, orientation and options. - Issue study, ongoing teacher's lectures. - Ongoing assignments, production, correcting, consulting and submitting of studio sub-tasks. - Ongoing corrections, consultations and creation of semester project (KP). - Working with video and audio distributed via mobile technology - broadband. - Video streaming (basic knowledge of server technologies, optimizing video for web, Internet radio, Internet TV). - Video for mobile communications (videoconferencing, graphic designs of interface for the new generation of mobile technologies, mastering JAVA). - Fusion of mobile phone, GPS and portable PC. - Consultation about sketches, scenarios, intention of technical team, concept. - Realization of models and designs through photographs, sketches, initially processed video material as a preparation for the project. - Guest lecturer, seminar with a celebrity in the field of science and technology, with filmmakers and multimedia artists. - Study trips, exhibitions, debates. - Presentation of semester project by a specified deadline and at the quality level set by the teacher. - Presentations in the form of CD and DVD portfolio.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
to recall the basic techniques of traditional art disciplines, to describe several untraditional methods and materials usable for expressive and other art means depending on purpose of the work,
to reproduce the names and definitions of the common building elements of the visual language with accent on space and concept, to know their forms and possible combinations,
to bring together basic knowledge of supporting arts disciplines, mostly object and context design, semantic effects of signs ant their infulence on society,
to compare the results achieved on the given field of creation (both own and foreign), to describe own comparison
to apply knowledge about basic painters and sculptors morphology when designing the assigned task |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
to make drawing and painting sketch of own compositional proposals on a given topic, to work with several possible alternations in their possible conceptual conceptions,
to be able to work with common techniques and technologies of conceptual and spacial art,
to make a research for a given topic, to explain basic problematics of given topic and present it to the professional and general society in adequate way, to flexibly react to evaluating comments of a techer, coleques or viewers,
to select appropriate proposals on the basis of criteria, and work with their alterations and contexts
to realize the final artifact (spatial installation, painting, statue, design)
to install your work into a exposure based on character of expositure space and purpose of the work |

about project planning (conceptual analysis of the given topic, sketching, modeling, bozzetta) including research and analysis of given topic and space, and its connecting to interactive and multimedia approaches,
about production techniques and technologies of manual, concept and digital creation, of basic materials usable for creative expression in surface and space, about options of using those methods and materials in untraditional way,
on how to adjust and expose the work,
about historical and contemporary style canons used in different genres of art and architecture and public spaces and their translations into other cultural and social contexts
about common semantic meanings of signs and their options to use with work with concepts
about common vocabulary of object and concept design, about basic terminology of creating a sculture, object and instalation, about overlap of those disciplines into other even non-visual media,

to plan and realizes a spacial project of artwork with common expressive means on level of both realization and concept, to divide own work into several steps and to design their alterations based on a character of used materials,
to take into account in the production of the techniques and technology used, to be able to use common scale of artistic techniques for different purposes, to be able to use basic methods for multimedial and interactive overlop,
to independently look for suitable art solutions, compare different solutions and chooses between different alterations, to willingly exand his or her technological vocabulary,
designates, characterizes and distinguishes between the relationship between the object, design, sculpture and installation,
Besides practical realizations, to solve tasks in a conceptual way, thus classifying his or her own verbal skills,
to reflect his work in historical and contemporary contexts, is aware of options of those contexts for own creative work and to willingly use them,
to reflect its work in the context of professional, technical and technological processes, to be able to use other tools, mostly digital and computer quided,
with erudition, to presents his work to the professional community
to be able to accept and assert in a way the evaluation and critical response, is able of own basic reflection of own work,
