Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for work in the field of metal and jewelry design. Students will learn the rules of basic technical and technological procedures in the design and implementation of the final artifact. They will develop their skills in researching a given topic, critically assessing the proposed options, selecting the most suitable final solution and defending it against the customer, or against the artistic aesthetic standards applied in the field.

Credit requirements:
- Participation in seminars, - Completion and submission of all specified studio sub-tasks (seminar works) in the extent and deadlines set by the teacher.
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Previously obtained credit, - Demonstrating inventiveness and craft abilities, - Compulsory corrections of semester project, - Submitting and defending semester project - Presentation.

Content
|
Students of master's program can enroll in this course as in so-called second studio.
Weeks 1 - 13 Introduction to the semester, information about the course. Assigning semester project. Analysis of the assignment, sketches, designs technology solutions, selecting the most appropriate option - consultation with the teacher. Ongoing compliance with studio sub-tasks. Continuous production of the project - consultation with teacher. Demonstrating invention, unconditional willingness to continuously improve craftwork skills. Submitting the semester project. Presentation.

Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
proposes variants of the monogram for both surface and relief applications,
design a jewel for another person (brooch, necklace, ring, etc.)
revitalizes and templates the style of affinity with the future user of jewelry,
realizes the final form of artifacts,
resolves the work piece adjustment (etuije, boxes)
presents his work |
