Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to familiarize the students theoretically and practically with the basic technological procedures (measurement, construction, casting, etc.) using traditional and new materials. The taught technology is the same as in the student's present sculpture project from his or her main atelier and he or she will gain the basic experience in this art handicraft training.

Requirements on student
|
Credit requirements:
- Ongoing development of all assigned practical tasks
- Regular participation in lectures and seminars - at least 80 per cent.
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Previously obtained credit,
- Demonstrating inventiveness and craft abilities,
- Submitting and presentation seminar paper in the extent and by the deadline set by the teacher.

Weeks 1 - 13 Technological processes of work - traditional materials (stone, wood, metal ...). Technological processes of work - new materials (composite materials ...). Procedures for working with stone. Procedures for working with wood. Procedures for working with metal. Procedures for working with composite materials. Relevance to current studio projects, art&craft training.

to choose the appropriate creative procedures for implementing the proposed variants of the work,
consider the possibilities of forming basic materials,
to critically evaluate the mutual compositional and material relations in relation to the given topic of creation,
to describe and describe the basics of the technological processes of working with traditional and new materials,
to be confessed in historical and contemporary style canons,
to describe on specific works the possibilities to apply the basics of art-craft training |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
suggests variants of object, object, sculpture, land art or site specific installation,
revitalizes and templates the stylistic affinity of his own work and other artists,
choose the appropriate model manufacturing technology and the process of manufacturing the final work,
realizes the final form of artifacts with respect to the technical and technological rules of the field,
Applies basic techniques to working with traditional and new materials (working stone, wood, working with metal, composite materials, etc.)
presenting his project with an emphasis on his technical and technological aspects and their influence on his overall aesthetic effect |
