Course objectives:
|
The goal of this module is introduction to students concerning theoretical outcomes how EU law works including its development, principles and position in Czech law. The content includes institutions of EU/EC, their position and relation to Czech institutions, bodies and interconnection between them. After general determination of pillars of EU organization the module covers general principles, elementary features of EU/EC law, mainly arising from the case-law of the ECJ/CFI. Then the position and importance of categories of rights of citizens are covered in relation to public power and supremacy of European law. This implies learning procedural steps, possibilities of actions of various entities within European law in front of competent judicial authorities/ECJ/CFI. Students should learn the legal system of EU law as the one which is common to all the Member states, creating new European legal culture.
