Course objectives:

Introduction to British Law - Part Two: European dimension of British law (EU institutions, sources of EU law, the Euriopean Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998), basic concepts of British criminal law (actus reus, mens rea) and the law of contracts (parties to a contract, invitation to treat, offer and acceptance, counteroffer, exclusion clauses, communication of acceptance). Analysis of cases. English legal terminology in selected texts and model cases. Part of the course: intensive block of lectures delivered by professors from School of Law, Manchester Metropolitan University. Language of instruction: English

naučit se odbornou anglickou terminologii ve vybraných právních oblastech
pracovat s modelovými případy a zákony
číst s porozuměním komentáře soudců v rozhodnutích konkrétních případů
uplatnit získané znalosti a dovednosti při překladu právních dokumentů z angličtiny do češtiny
vyjádřit svůj právní názor
aplikovat získané znalosti v komunikaci s ostatními
vysvětlit základní pojmy a poskytnout informace o vybraných oblastech britského práva v kontextu práva EU (hlavní orgány EU, prameny práva EU, Evropská úmluva o LP a Human Rights Act 1998), základní pojmy trestního práva (actus reus, mens rea) a smluvního práva (smluvní strany, výzva k jednání, návrh a přijetí, protinávrh, vynětí z odpovědnosti, okamžik uzavření smlouvy), případové studie |

používat odbornou anglickou terminologii vybraných právních oblastí v ústním i psaném projevu
pracovat s precedenty (porovnání modelového případu s relevantními precedenty a zákony, rozlišování, analytický rozbor, tvorba úsudku)
přeložit právní texty z angličtiny do češtiny
aplikovat získané znalosti v komunikaci s ostatními (analýza modelových případů, obhajoba vlastního úsudku) |
